WELCOME! You are now on my page about old tube radios.

For years I have been thinking about bringing an own homepage online about old tube radios. That takes a lot of preparation but finally it is time.

The radio virus, if you can call it that, struck me early. I was about 13 years old when I got my first radio from my father, who was also very interested in old radios. That was an Amroh radio of a type that I do not remember anymore. It was a good playing device, but after a year I wanted a better sound. After some insistence, my father tacked in and bought a Philips "Concerto" 890-A for me. That was a revelation, what a great sound with its two times EL-3 parallel.

In those days I also bought separate copys from Radio Blan and Radio Bulletin and started to build things and repair devices. That did not always work in the beginning, but later when I also went through a radio electronics course, it worked better and better.

I also often went with my father to the Waterlooplein in Amsterdam, then another Eldorado as far as old radios and TVs are concerned.

Later in the 90s I started collecting old tube radios and expanded to what it is today.

Erik Hoed I am grateful that he has designed this site so nicely.

I wish you a lot of viewing pleasure.
